Leadership for 2011-2012

Ladies,
We had a small turnout at the Leadership Lemonade on Monday. I
understand several people had sick kids or husbands, and I hope they
are all feeling well now.

This MOPS year is coming to a close - May is our last meeting. Yes,
we'll have playdates and moms nights during the summer months, but we
won't have regular meetings again until September. So, we are already
beginning to plan some for next year.

Several of our steering team, table leaders, and care team ladies are
either moving or graduating from MOPS. Because of that, we will want
you! We need a few good moms!

What is this leadership thing? Well, it does require a small
commitment on your part. But from personal example, it is totally
worth it. I think you would be hard pressed to talk to anyone at MOPS
Crossroads who hasn't enjoyed their time on steering, table leading,
or being a care team member. Here's one testimony from someone who
found a small surprise by serving her local MOPS group, "MOPS is a
place to use my leadership abilities in ways that supported other
women on their mom journeys. I participated in ensuring MOPS was a
welcoming place, a source of community and encouragement. By
organizing a play date, I provided time out for other moms. With one
call to a woman at my table, I extended caring to a mom who was in her
third week of battling the family flu bug." That lady is Shelly Radic,
and she's now the Interim CEO of MOPS!

Locally, let me tell you that serving in MOPS allows you even more
chances to connect and form friendships. I personally have made
several friends through being on steering that I probably wouldn't
have made otherwise. Naturally, I am an introvert, who has just a
small group of friends and I kinda like to just stick to my little
circle. But I wanted to find an outlet for some of my skills that I
wasn't getting as a mommy. And in doing so, I have a much larger group
of friends who support me during this often challenging time of
mothering three preschoolers!

Anyway, if you couldn't make it this past Monday, but still might be
interested in helping with MOPS in some way for the 2011-2012 MOPS
year, please let me know. The following positions on steering are
available and I'll be glad to talk to you more about them:
Hospitality, MOPPETS Coordinator, Publicity, Ministry Focus
Coordinator. Also, we need Table Leaders, Care Team Members, and some
MOPPETS Support Team members.
